What happens to my gutters during roof extensions?

When we build roof extensions, gutters are typically removed as part of the process. Gutters are not automatically replaced by default. As the homeowner, you are responsible for reinstalling the gutters once the project is complete.

If you’d like, we can provide pricing and arrange for gutter installation as part of your project.

Why is the staining on my cedar inconsistent?

Cedar wood naturally has color variations and varying grain density, which can cause the wood to absorb stain unevenly. This is a natural characteristic of cedar and contributes to its unique, rustic appeal.

While inconsistent staining can be noticeable, it’s part of what makes cedar such a desirable material for outdoor projects. If you prefer a more uniform appearance, additional layers of stain or a sealant may help, but keep in mind that cedar’s natural variations are part of its charm.

Why is my cedar cracking?

Cedar wood is naturally prone to expansion and contraction due to changes in temperature and humidity. As the wood loses moisture in dry conditions it can shrink. As the humidity increases, the wood absorbs moisture and expands. This natural process can cause cracking over time.

How do I protect my outdoor kitchen from the elements?

To ensure the longevity and functionality of your outdoor kitchen appliances, it’s important to take steps to protect them from the elements. Here are a few key recommendations:

  1. Use covers for appliances when they are not in use to shield them from rain, dirt, and debris.
  2. Install a roof or pergola to provide shade and protection from direct sunlight and rain, helping to maintain the condition of your appliances.
  3. Choose materials specifically designed to withstand outdoor weather exposure, such as stainless steel for durability and weather resistance.

By taking these precautions, you can extend the life of your outdoor kitchen and keep your appliances looking and functioning like new. We do not recommend Pressure washing on new materials.
